Disneyland Resort Paris® Theme Park opened in 1992. It was originally entitled Eurodisney® but the name was later changed to Disneyland Resort Paris® to recognise it's location in France, near to Paris. It is located approximately 20 miles east of Paris. The French government has reserved 4800 acres for possible development by Disney. Currently the Disneyland Paris Resort® occupies around 1500 acres of that, so there is still plenty of room for more growth.
Disneyland Resort Paris® consists of 2 Theme parks; Disneyland® park and the Walt Disney Studios® park, 6 Disney Hotels, the Disney village and 3 nine hole golf courses. The village is an area just outside of the main Disneyland Park with an IMAX cinema, an arcade, free shows, restaurants, shops and bars.
There are a range of hotels to suit all pockets and tastes.
The Disneyland® Hotel is the resort’s premiere hotel. The 4 star hotel, themed along the lines of a Victorian mansion, is immediately outside the gates of the Disneyland Park and some of the rooms have views over the park.
Disney's Hotel New York® is also a 4 star hotel designed to look like the architecture of New York. Also used as a convention centre, it has a more adult feel to it.
The 3 star Newport Bay Club® hotel at Disneyland Paris has a nautical theme throughout.
Disney's Sequoia Lodge® is also a 3 star hotel and is themed on an American National Park, with large redwood trees and timber and stone lodges. The pool at this hotel is particularly attractively themed with boulders, a waterfall and a slide.
Disney's Hotel Cheyenne® is a Wild West themed 2 star hotel, while the Santa Fe®, also 2 star, has a Mexican theme.
Last but by no means least is the 2-star Davy Crockett ranch, where you can stay in a one or two-bedroom woodland cabin with fully equipped kitchen, with a large range of on-site activities. If staying at the Davy Crockett Ranch® it is advisable to have your own transport because it is a 15-minute drive away from the parks and unlike all the other hotels, there is not a free shuttle bus to the parks.
